Not only is Ismail an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto, but he also is the co-President and the co-Founder of the OIEPB Alumni Association. Additionally, he sits on the OIEPB Advisory Council Committee. Ismail was granted two recognition awards from the University of Toronto for his teaching contributions in 2018 and 2019.

He has always had a deep interest in utilizing multifocal techniques such as Soft Tissue Mobilization, Soft Tissue Release, Joint Mobilization, Trigger Point Relief, Active Therapy, Restorative Mobility Techniques, and Therapeutic Modalities to help people increase their wellness, quality of life, restore their mobility, and live their best life.

Outside of his academic and community private practices, Ismail likes to lead an active lifestyle via outdoor walks, functional training, martial arts, and habitual traveling.
